A lot of people don’t know that to have a successful day you need to master your night routine. Everything is just a giant cycle. If something is wrong there will be consequences. I can’t lie though when I start to get heavily invested in my college classes I probably go to bed around 2 AM, not healthy at all! After my first semester of college, hopefully, I will learn to master my bedtime. Here are a few tips to help you out with your night routine.
1. Clean Up
Honestly, nothing stresses me out like waking up or coming home to a dirty room. If I have to constantly think about cleaning my room or having to do something you better believe you will be losing sleep. Take a few minutes and clean your space. Simply put things where they belong, and do the “hardcore cleaning” another day, vacuum. You will appreciate that you did this in the morning!
2. Turn it Off
Shut down your phone or put it away. It’s not going away, trust me. This might be the toughest out of all the tips, but your brain is going to love it. You can start by turning it off 30 minutes before going to bed to let your brain relax. If you use it as an alarm, go the store and buy a real alarm clock.
3. Skin Care
This is something that I personally make my priority. I dedicate time in the morning and at night to do what I have to do. It is a great way to fight acne and keep wrinkles at bay. Steps to my skin care routine:
1. Wash face – Clarisonic Mia 2|| 2. Exfoliate skin || 3. Face mask || 4. Apply eye cream & moisturizer || 5. Apply Mario Badescu if needed
4. Plan Ahead
Take a little time and plan ahead, so you are not stressing in the morning. This is a great time to update your planner or catch up on that book you have been dying to read. I have been reading How To Be An Overnight Success, and I absolutely love. I definitely recommend it to all my #girlbosses!! Empty your brain.
I know what you are thinking. Why do we need one if we are adults? Well, the truth is we can’t function to our fullest capacity if we didn’t get our sleep. The minimum amount of sleep for adults is generally 7.5 hour. Experiment with what times work better for your schedule, but make sure you are getting enough sleep. You deserve to feel refreshed each time you wake up.
ALSO, because I love everyone I thought I would share this adorable makeup bag from a shop called Jacaranda Handmade. Ines, the owner is super sweet. She sells makeup bags, wallets, totes, and much more! Fun Story: I actually lost it within a week of getting, but my amazing stats professor found it!
