I am counting down the day for Rush Week! I can’t wait to meet my potential sisters! It will be a week full of overwhelming feeling and information. You will be making a choice that will impact your college career, but it will be worth it. Not knowing what to wear will only add to the stress, so I am helping you out. Everything I have linked below is from a website called SheIn and EVERYTHING is UNDER $20. Can you believe that?!

PERIOD I – OPEN HOUSE – MONDAY OR TUESDAY

It is recommended that during this day you wear something comfortable because there will be a lot of walking. One of these two days students will be attending all, in my case, 12 sorority chapters. They will be introduced to values and standard of the Panhellenic community. Typically, you would wear some type of shorts, a school t-shirt and comfortable shoes (don’t be that girl that take off their shoes). Avoid Nike shorts; they look sloppy, especially when first impressions are everything during formal recruitment. Jean shorts do the trick. You want to look cute and trendy.

White Shorts / Light Blue Short / Dark Blue Shorts / Black Distressed Shorts

PERIOD II – PHILANTHROPY & COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY – WEDNESDAY

During philanthropy and community service day you will be introduced to their philanthropic affiliation. Each sorority has a cause they support; during the year they hold events and raise money for whatever unique cause. In this day, you will only be able to attend up to 8 events that you get invited to, as a way to help you narrow done your choices. For this day, wear something more dressy such as a sundress or skirt and wear flats or wedges.

Black Dress / Embroidered Dress / Sequin Skirt / Black Scallop Skirt

PERIOD III – VALUES & SISTERHOOD DAY – THURSDAY

Sisterhood day is a fun event that allows sororities to tell you about them and to express their values. Women are recommended to dress in church attire. A formal attire doesn’t have to take away from your style find a way to make your outfit pop a little.

Flare Dress / White Scallop Trim Dress / Floral Dress / Checkered Dress

PREFERENCE – FRIDAY

Preference night is the night where you get to see inside your top-choice sororities, it is the dressiest night of the rounds. Try to avoid dresses that reveal too much because they can be distracting while you are talking to a sorority member. Wear cocktail attire and heels. It does not have to be black.

Embroidered Rose Dress / Burgundy Dress / White Bardot Dress / Black Bodycon Dress

BID DAY – SATURDAY

You finally made to the final day!! Bid day is the best day! You’ll find out which sorority you’ll be in. They will shower you with gifts and t-shirts. They are showing their love! Wear a cute pair of short and a t-shirt that will make it easier for you to slip on your new letters and join your sisters!

Bleach Wash Shorts  / Elastic Waist Shorts / Striped Shorts / Distressed Shorts

  1. Cute!! I was an athlete in college so I hardly ever had time for extras such as a sorority but this sounds helpful! I know it was long, hot, days for the girls in Oklahoma!

  2. This is super cute. Offering helpful suggestions for what to wear – and providing links for affordable items really helps girls during what can be a very stressful – yet exhilarating – time. Sorority rush week is so exciting for so many – especially in families where there are legacies. 🙂

  3. I didn’t rush a sorority in college (I was in an honor frat) but I love these posts because I always get to see some super cute outfit ideas!

  4. This is a great post! But as an alumna of a Tech sorority, the one thing I’d warn about is low cut or Vegas style dresses for pref night. Pref is actually one of the sorority’s formal rituals that’s almost as sacred as initiation so I would just make sure you’re not too over the top. Good luck this week!
